Welcome to Belper

Welcome to Strutt's North Mill situated within the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.   You are standing in the world's first Iron-Framed ‘fire-proof' cotton mill (1804) the most technologically advanced building of its time.  Here you are unable to unwind the story of spinning, framework knitting, hosiery, chevening and nailmaking and discover how the Strutt family changed Belper from a village to a thriving industrial town.
